Transformation through tragedy

The story of how God transformed one woman's petition into 24,000 delicious desserts for Palm Beach County's hungry.
From the streets to a place of love, safety
With help from friends at Christ Fellowship, Ross has been reunited with his family in Missouri after three years on the streets.
Fighting temptation

More than 150 pounds. Thousands of dollars in credit card debt. A pack-a-day habit.
All gone. Replaced by a love for Christ and a brand-new walk with God.
Victoria Wilson, 33, gave her life to the Lord on her very first visit to Christ Fellowship. Weighing 300 pounds, a smoker and in deeply in debt, she knew she needed to turn her destructive habits over to God and she knew she needed help to do it. Christian help.
Victoria found a small group that met in Palm Beach Gardens and drove there from Royal Palm Beach every week. She began to tithe, breaking the bonds of debt by being faithful in this area ever since. Her small group encouraged and supported her in the weight loss, praying over her each week.
"Through God's strength, I fought a lot of temptation," Victoria says. "So I basically learned to start praying at every meal. After learning to read the Bible and learning prayer, I was strengthened."
Another answer to prayer
Victoria went to the same gym for two years, not knowing that her transformation was making a silent impact on another gym member, whose name was Tom. Finally, he asked her to join him for dinner.
On that first date they learned they both attended Christ Fellowship and the Singles Ministry, but had never crossed paths. After a year of dating and worshiping together, and another year of engagement, Victoria and Tom were married at Christ Fellowship in March, 2007. They now live in Wellington and worship at the Royal Palm Campus.
A journey of faith and trust
"God's timing is perfect - my experiences and the weight loss taught me to appreciate the journeys through all the troubles of my life," Victoria says. "God prepared me through all the things that were negative in order to prepare me for my future and family."
Victoria currently serves in the Children's Ministry, and she and Tom are preparing to host a small group. They look forward to the day when they can start a family of their own.
"God's given me the power to make my life different for my family - a God-honoring family - knowing everything we have comes from God."
