The vision for Place of Hope was birthed during Pastor Tom and Donna Mullins’ 1993 visit to Romanian orphanages. There, they witnessed firsthand the overwhelming plight of suffering children. But they also saw the remarkable difference that was made by ordinary people who decided to manifest God’s love through action.
As the words from Isaiah 1:17 -“Learn to do good, seek justice, encourage the oppressed, defend the fatherless”- took root in their hearts, they began to look for opportunities to serve hurting children right here in Palm Beach County. This led to the creation of Place of Hope, a faith-based community organization providing residential care for foster children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect or abandonment.
Place of Hope is a national model of successful faith-based foster care, due to its emphasis on keeping sibling groups intact and creating a loving, stable family environment in which children flourish.
