Thanksgiving Outreach FAQ's

Q. DO I HAVE TO BE A MEMBER OF CHRIST FELLOWSHIP CHURCH TO PARTICIPATE?

  1. No. This project is open to the community.

Q. CAN STUDENTS OR OTHERS GET COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS?

  1. Yes – Students or others looking to receive community service hours need to bring paperwork provided to them by their own organization for this purpose. It must be filled out by the volunteer prior to coming to this event. It will be signed once the volunteer has completed their work for the day.

Q. CAN I BRING MY PRE-SCHOOLER?

  1. This year, we are happy to have family friendly shifts to include young children. These will be on Saturday and Sunday morning and afternoon for children ages 6 – 12, if accompanied by an adult. Please note that strollers are not permitted on the site at any time. You must supervise your child at all times.

Q. DO YOU FEED THE VOLUNTEERS?

  1. We will not be providing food for volunteers. We have designed the event shifts to be no longer than 4 hours long. This will give you time to eat before or after your shift.

Q. SHOULD I BRING MY OWN WATER?

  1. Water is provided.

Q. WILL I BE WORKING OUTSIDE?

  1. Yes. For day shifts, plan on sunscreen and a hat.

Q. WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

  1. Comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty. You may want to bring an apron. Closed-toed shoes are a must.

Q. WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

  1. You will be assigned jobs by the site coordinator. Some jobs are very physically demanding, so if you have a condition that keeps you from doing the job, please let us know and another job will be assigned to you. Please come with a spirit of cooperation and realize that even if the assigned job doesn’t seem like much, it is necessary to the success of the Thanksgiving Feast. We couldn’t do this without our wonderful volunteers!

Q. CAN I WORK MORE THAN ONE SHIFT?

  1. Yes. Please sign up for all shifts that you wish to work.

Q. SHOULD I BRING CANNED GOODS FOR A DONATION?
