To choose a trip, begin by praying and examining the gifts and talents that God has given you. Has He drawn you to serve at a specific place or time? Has He drawn you to specific people: children, special needs, women, men? Consider choosing a trip that aligns with the where God is leading you and the work that He has equipped you for. But don’t be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone! That’s what mission trips are about!
Children ages 10 and up can apply to participate on family trips. For student trips, participants must be 14 or older. For adult trips participants must be 18 or older.
International round trip airfare to/from your destination, travel insurance, housing, meals, and ground transportation at your destination. It does not include visa fees, passport fees, immunizations costs or personal spending. We recommend bringing additional money for souvenirs, airport meals/snacks, any additional drinks or food you might want during the trip and other personal items you might want to buy. Your trip balance must be paid in full in order to go on the trip.
Once you apply, the Life Missions staff and the trip leader will review your application, and you will then be contacted for an interview. Our staff and trip leaders will prayerfully place people on trips who best fit the mission of the trip. Please note that applying for a trip does not guarantee you a spot. Although it is not required to attend Christ Fellowship, higher priority will be given to those who do attend. Once accepted, all trip members are expected to participate in three pre-trip meetings.
Your application does not commit you to a trip. You are committed to the trip once you have completed the interview process and have been approved for the trip. You will only be charged the $100 application fee upon approval for the trip. A payment schedule will be provided at the first team meeting for the remaining cost of the trip.
Yes. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and US Department of State have specific health and safety recommendations based on the increased risk of certain diseases when traveling to various parts of the world. Visit your local physician and health department for specific information as to which vaccinations are necessary for the country that you are visiting. Review the CDC’s website for more information.
Yes. All trips outside of the United States require passports. Passports normally take 4 to 6 weeks to process, so if a valid passport is not currently in your possession, you will need to begin that process immediately. Please note that all passports, visas and green cards must be valid for 6 months from the time of departure. A color copy of your passport will need to be submitted to the team leader as soon as possible. Please note that if you are a non-US passport holder, you are responsible for finding out visa and entry requirements for travel to a specific country.
Team unity and safety are both vital to the success of a mission trip. For these reasons, we require that all team members travel together for the entirety of the trip.
