Beach Clean-Up

If your group chooses this project, you will have the opportunity as a group to help clean up our beaches for a one mile stretch where we have our baptisms from Ocean Cay Park south to Loggerhead Park. Parking lots are available at Marcinski Road, Ocean Cay or Loggerhead Park

Project Location: Beach from Marcinski Road south to Loggerhead Park (or otherwise as you decide with Ms Levy).
Estimated Time: 3 to 4 hours.
Supplies needed: garbage bags, gloves, sunscreen, water for your group. You may want to take a picnic lunch or snacks.

Yard Clean Up

If your group chooses this project, you will have the opportunity to help clean up yards for low-income elderly or disabled in the inner-city.

Contact: Your local gas station and ask about the availability of holding a car wash at their location.
Project location: To be decided by your group.
Estimated time: 4 hours.
Supplies needed: buckets, hoses, car wash, clean rags, sponges, window cleaner.

Water Outreach

If your group chooses this project, you will have the opportunity to pass out bottles of ice cold water to individuals in a place of your choice. Your group will need to decide when and where to pass the water out. Remember that at sporting events, concessions are sometimes the monetary support so you do not want to be in competition.

Project location: Suggestions might include the fishing pier,  shopping centers,  little league games, community sporting events, lawn maintenance workers, constructions sites, or any other suggestions you may have where thirsty people would be blessed by a bottle of ice cold water.
Suggested group size: Appropriate for all size groups.
Estimated time: 2-3 hours maximum or until you run out of water.
Supplies: 1 case of water per team member. Large coolers or ice chests for chilling the water, clothing appropriate to the weather, sunscreen if you will be outdoors.

Paint Your Heart Out (countywide)

If your group chooses this project, you will have the opportunity to paint the exterior of the home of an underserved elderly and/or disabled person. You will partner with the Solid Waste Authority who will provide the paint, rollers, brushes and the address of a prescreened, qualified resident in the Palm Beach County.

Project location: To be determined upon by the Solid Waste Authority and assigned to the registered group. Tell Heather Levy your group’s preferred area; however, she may only have homes available in certain areas.
Suggested group size: Mandatory minimum of 25 people.
Estimated time: 5-6 hours.
Supplies needed: All paint, brushes, rollers will be provided by the Solid Waste Authority. You may choose to being a picnic lunch, sunscreen and drinks for your group. These items are not provided.

Public Servant Appreciation Outreach

If your group chooses this project, you will have the opportunity to select your favorite sweets recipe and bake for the Public Service Departments of your local city or town. This is a great way to show appreciation and God’s love to our police and fire departments.

Contact: The police chief or fire chief of the location you choose. Tell them you and your group would like to bring home baked goodies to them and select a date and time.  These individuals serve selflessly to protect their citizens and rarely feel the appreciation of the people they serve.
Project location: Countywide; you and you group decide.
Suggested group size: Appropriate for all group sizes.
Estimated time: 3-4 hours including delivery.
Supplies needed: Your favorite recipe and its ingredients.Individual portions may work best (cupcakes, cookies, brownies, tarts, etc.) so that they can be passed out or picked up easier. Place in disposable containers.

Foster Family Assistance

If you and your group choose this project, you will have the opportunity to bless local foster families by collecting, and donating diapers, baby food and formula to Place of Hope, who will disperse items to foster families across the county. All size diapers needed, including newborn. Baby formula can be in prepared or ready-to-mix powder. Juices, baby foods, baby cereals and teething biscuits are needed to help foster families meet the nutritional needs of the infants they are housing.

Group size: any size group is appropriate, any age group.
Estimated time: 3-4 hours.
Supplies: shopping bags, boxes to fill with diapers and food.

Rylee’s Hope

If your group chooses this project you will have an opportunity to assist an area ministry program serving parents with children in the NICU at St. Mary’s whose babies are seriously ill. They provide visits to parents to encourage them, prayer, referrals to area assistance programs, a homemade meal when the family goes home, and some practical help such as phone cards, gas cards, etc. to help defray the financial burden for families who travel back and forth on a daily basis to visit their children.

Supplies needed: Your group may choose to assist by providing diapers, baby items, phone cards, gas cards, meal for family.

Villages of Hope (Place of Hope Initiative)

If you choose this project, you and your group will have the opportunity to assist in the projects necessary to prepare and open the Villages of Hope. The Villages of Hope Transitional Independent Living Program is a project designed to assist youth in developing skills and resources to promote independence and prevent future dependency on social services. The program will target up to twelve (phase I) homeless and/or emancipated foster youth ages 18 through 25 for placement in a residential supervised apartment setting and additional youth for non-residential services and referrals for life skills training and development. Projects to be considered are: Yard and debris cleanup, Interior painting, construction clean up after renovations.

Central Florida Recovery

If you and your group choose this project, you will have the opportunity to register yourselves with Homeland Compassion as individuals who are electronically notified of volunteer needs after a natural or man-made disaster or crisis. There are currently needs in Central Florida for distributing trailer loads of food to designated pantries in three counties. For more information about the Homeland Compassion Program and to register yourself and your small group, please visit www.homelandcompassion.org and click on Volunteer Registrations. You must be registered to receive notifications.

Supplies needed: You will be asked to provide your own transportation to the site indicated. This will be indicated in electronic notifications.

Inner City (Urban Youth Impact)

If you choose this project, you and your small group will have the opportunity to work alongside Urban Youth Impact on various inner city projects both in the community and at the Dream Center. Projects may include:

  • The Impact House needs to be painted. UYI will provide the paint. (Saturday project)
  • Prepare a special craft or activity to share with UYI children in either middle school or elementary after-school programs. (Weekday late afternoon)
  • Dunbar Recreational Ministry: prepare dinner and an activity or craft to share with 30 children one weekday evening.
  • Bow Down Kids Church: prepare a Bible study and activity or game to share with the children in kids church (Sunday evening).
  • Mangonia Park Residence: prepare care packages or food (dinner or snacks or dessert) and plan an activity for the seniors there. (Weekday evening or weekend project.).
