Rootworks
We want to help students grow their roots deep as a disciple of Jesus Christ. Let us know if we can help you connect your students by using our online contact form.
“Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.” Ephesians 3:17 (NLT)
Seed
A ‘source’ of development or growth capable of producing a new plant.
A tree must start from something or somewhere...a seed.
Just as a seed must be planted, watered and fertilized in order to grow, there are steps for you to take after making your decision to follow Christ.
- Baptism: Baptism is an outward expression of your personal commitment to Jesus Christ. It symbolizes his death, burial and resurrection.
- Mentor Program: It’s not easy to journey alone, so we’ve equipped adult mentors to help you grow deeper in your faith and mature as a Christian.
Trunk
The main part of a tree that ‘supports’ the branches; directly attached to the roots. The trunk is extremely sturdy. The roots supply the nourishment that must be carried through the trunk before finally reaching the leaves. These next steps are going to help you grow strong or ‘sturdy’ to support your relationship with Christ.
- Student Accountability Partners: Find someone at school or church that can encourage you and keep you accountable to the truths found in God’s Word.
- Life Groups: By joining a life group, you can develop a deeper faith and dig deeper into the word of God each week.
- Journals: Develop a daily Bible reading plan by using the Rootworks journals and start memorizing verses weekly.
Fruit
A ‘product’ of plant growth, the purpose of a tree is to produce fruit. Jesus tells us in Matthew 28:19 “to go and make disciples.” The fruit of a Christian are the outward acts of what god is doing on the inside of that believer.
Check out these ways to express what God has taught you through your own spiritual journey.
- Friendship Evangelism: Reach out to those in your life with the truth of God’s hope and grace.
- Ministry Teams: Become part of the servant leadership team. You can help by welcoming, setting up before and after service or joining the worship or media teams.
- Missions & Outreach: Reach into your world to share the love and message of Jesus Christ on a personal, local and global level by being the hands and feet of Jesus.
- Life Groups: Connect and share the adventure of your spiritual journey with others as you deepen your roots and produce fruit.
