Day 5

“One day an expert in religious law stood up to test Jesus by asking him this question: “Teacher, what should I do to inherit eternal life?” Jesus replied, “What does the law of Moses say? How do you read it?” The man answered, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.’ And, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” “Right!” Jesus told him. “Do this and you will live!” – Luke 10:25-28

“All” is a very important word. If a friend told you that they had 1 million dollars in their bank account and they were going to give you “some” of it, you’d be excited and curious. You’d be excited because you knew that you’d be getting an amount of money, but curious because you wouldn’t really know the amount. But if that same friend told you that they had 1 million dollars in their bank account and they were going to give you “all” of it, then you’d be ecstatic. You’d be overjoyed because you would know exactly how much you’d be getting. The word “all” means, “whole quantity.” “All” means “every last drop.” How fitting that Jesus says that He wants “ALL” our hearts, souls, strength and mind. Just like the friend who says, “I’ll give you ALL of my bank account,” Jesus is the friend who said, “I’ll give you ALL of my life.”

What is standing in the way today of Jesus having ALL your heart, soul, mind and strength? Surrender your ALL over to Jesus today, and His ALL will be ALL you need.

  • Barbara Donovan

Amen. Father help me to give my ALL. Eliminate the distractions in my life that prevent this. Take away FEAR and WORRY from my life. I lay all before you feet. I surrender my ALL to you. Amen

  • Lisa Hadebe

Amen,l surrender myself to you Jesus and you are ALL l need today and forever, amen.

  • I recognize what I have not surrendered to God by what causes me pain or worry. What’s dead doesn’t hurt. Like hair and nails, you can cut it off without pain. What I have totally surrendered to God, He can do with as He wishes and it’s no struggle to part with. Please pray for me and for all of us here, that we might live in that place of total peace through surrendering all to God.

    • Gene Monaghan

To understand the significance of this verse, it is best to begin with the word LOVE. Here the emphasis is on ALL. But look at it this way. The Scribe (religious expert) says “Love” with all mind, heart, soul, strength. Jesus always taught the spiritual, by showing in the physical. So think of when someone first falls in love. They do everything they can to please and to exhibit the love that they have, even sacrificing their own desires for the sake of the one that they are in love with. That’s why jesus said ” if you love ME you will keep my commandments.” He didn’t say “if you keep MY commandments I will love you”. He also said “remember your first love” (for HIM). When we learn to “love him”…we will give HIM all.

    • Amen! I agree!

  • True Blue

I surrendermy heart, body and soul to you Jesus! Alwaysand forever! Amen

  • isma Mclaughlin

    I surrender all!

  • Nata P.

The everlasting love that Jesus gives us is the true gift of life. Every day we live by the gift of His sacrifice. Everyday we live by His grace . That means that we are sorrounded by His glory and His love.
Fasting helps us to find balance and to connect with Jesus and with our inner selves in a deeper way.
We are all human and we are all facing the challenges of life . Sometimes our weaknesses bring us to places of pain and suffering, but please be aware that we are very special to God. We have the most amazing God . He is the God and Creator of humankind .
I am proud of you who are working hard towards finding peace with God and in God.
Let’s be united in friendship, love, and care for each other . We will be blessed with joy and peace that only can be given by Jesus our brother, Savior, and God.

  • My prayers are resonating with this post- I keep trying to enlarge my life with His help to a place where there is no “separation” of categories (business, personal, family, health, faith, etc) in my life that give God glory, but that ALL of what I do and how I show up in this life is for Jesus! Amen! Great posts!
