Day 1

“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”  – Matthew 6:33

When Jesus called the disciples to follow Him, the Bible says they got up and immediately followed Him. They were engaged in their everyday, busy lives. But there was something so amazing about Jesus that they followed Him at once. They chose to seek after the kingdom of God over their own previous plans. Surely, everyone Jesus asked would be willing to follow Him since He was the Son of God, right? When the rich young ruler approached Jesus and asked what he must do, Jesus told him to sell everything and follow Him (Matthew 19:16-22). But the Bible says he turned away sad and unwilling to give up what he had for what Jesus promised.

We would like to think we would be willing to give up our stuff to follow Christ, but would we? More importantly, do we? Are we seeking to further God’s kingdom first or is it further down the list of things to do? What has God asked you to turn away from in order to pursue His purpose for your life? Write it down. Pray for God to transform your heart and mind so you may discern what His will is for you.

  • Danielle Borzillo

As I was thinking about new beginnings and New Year resolutions over the past several days I feel that I had a New Year Revelation as Pastor Todd put it. There are a few areas in my life that I feel need major change. It feels a little overwhelming to get started. As I prayed I came to the realization that I just want to be who God wants me to me and he already has begun that work in me. I just need to be more of who he created me to be and that doesn’t seem nearly as hard as starting from scratch. He is faithful to complete the work he started!

    • Kimberly Vickers

Hi Danielle, you’re right, there’s only one you and that’s who God wants you to be. Here is another scripture that should be helpful:

      Philippians 2:13New Living Translation (NLT)

13 For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.

      • Danielle Borzillo

Thank you for the encouragement and the scripture.

        • Kimberly Vickers

          You’re welcome always

    • Valerie Perez Rivero

TKS for your comment I am in the same situation!!

      • Danielle Borzillo

It is a good place to be. I will pray for God to work in you!

  • Meemz

Thank you for this today. I am not sure what my purpose is yet, but I’m praying it will be revealed to me in time. In the meantime I seek patience and more energy to give to my 2 girls under 2 years of age. I am a recent widow and am trying to balance my sanity and their happiness. God bless.

    • Annelisa

I lost my husband when my boys were 4 and 1 1/2. I unfortunately know how you feel! Keep your eyes on Jesus. That is how I got through the darkest time. I will pray for you! God bless you and your little ones. ❤

    • Rita A. Zayas

      Praying for you.
“Call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.”
      Psalm 50:15

    • LizzyLou

Praying for you as well. I can’t imagine being a widow with two small children. I pray that God give you strength to be strong for yourself and your children. God bless.

    • Sandra Negri

Hello Meemz, My name is Sandra. I am so sorry about your loss. I pray that our Father God fill you with his comfort and that he give you strength and energy to deal with your loss and taking care of your daughters. Also CF has a wonderful ministry called “Griefshare” which is a group that meets on a weekly basis to help anyone who has experienced a loss of a loved one. It is offered at some of the campuses you can look on the website for dates and times. I happen to be the Facilitator of the Royal Palm Beach campus we are starting a new session next Tuesday Jan 17th at 6:30 pm in room 105. There is childcare available as well. I will keep you in my prayers.

  • Donna Finley

May we all pray for each other that the Lord will reveal his purpose to us each AND every day. God bless

  • Lisa Hadebe

May God hear our prayers as we solemnly humble ourselves to seek Him first, and may He direct our paths in our everyday life, and give us strength to go through this 21days of prayer and fasting.
    Amen

    • Annelisa

      Amen

      • Ambar Vazquez

        Yes, AMEN!

  • Brittany Graham Brooks

I just want to be in step with the Holy Spirit. Praying for discernment that I see his will for my life. As Pastor Todd stated yesterday, “I’m ready to stretch myself”

  • Nathan Phillips

My wife and I were so encouraged after the message yesterday and just as Pastor Todd said, the devil was working to discourage. We are praying for financial peace this year and started to have some doubt that it would be possible. We had to stop ourselves and say, “if we don’t think it’s possible, then it probably won’t be possible!” We are challenging ourselves to test God’s greatness! Hope and pray that everyone has an encouraging first day of prayer and fasting!

    • LizzyLou

      Amen.

    • Kimberly Vickers

      Amen

  • Noel Ewing-Martinez

The message yesterday was so encouraging! Just what my husband and I needed to hear. We are open and ready to receive from our Heavenly Father!

  • Lu

I am very thankful for this 21day fasting, for this is my first time! I’m not sure of the purpose Pf why I decided to do this but slowly I am beginning to see this happing at the right time for I need the lords help and guidance more than anything now! Though you may not know me, I ask that you pray for me and my family!

  • Lisa

This is my first time embarking on a 21 day fast as well. It is also perfect timing for me as my faith is being put to the test stronger now than ever. I have some highly spiritual beings (people) in my home that are testing my faith. I don’t believe these spirits are of God. I am praying constantly for God to show me the truth and to cast out anything not of Him out of my home and out of my life in Jesus name. I have anointed my home with Frankincense and asked for it be holy ground. Please pray for me to stand strong in my faith, as it is all too easy to get caught up in the loving deception they are trying to attack me with.

  • Ambar Vazquez

Good Morning & Happy Monday to my brothers & sisters in Christ! I think this is great! I was also encouraged by yesterday message. I am praying and believing for a wonderful 2017. I am stretching outside my comfort zone and making room for what God has in store for me in my life. I’m done doing thins my way…I’m ready for God to lead the way. I am praying, believing, and claiming for a year of prosperity, great health, finances, LOVE, and a new home. I grew up in the church and been attending for a while, but I will admit…this is my first time fasting. I am leaving the past in the past, seeking God & his kingdom first…because I know His plans are much bigger than what I can ever imagine. I know how I’m worth it! I am so thankful and grateful for His mercy, love, patience and understanding! I will keep you all in my prayers as well. Have a Blessed Day!

  • Lynne Campbell

    Amen

  • Kristine Jones

I’m willing to step out of my comfort zone in order to grow. Dear Lord let your will be done not mine.

  • Mel

I’m having a hard time with something very near and dear to me. My heart is shattered and all the things I thought God was pointing me towards is gone. Right now I’m feeling more let down than ever and struggling with how to believe that maybe it has to fall apart to be rebuilt. I believe, I know in my soul that God has put something/someone in my life for a bigger purpose and the journey isn’t over. I’m praying for the strength that things will be revealed soon before there is damage beyond repair. I’m actually new to church, finding my faith again, I’m not familiar with the Bible as much as I’d like to be so if anyone has a direction as to what verse or book to get me started I’d be grateful.

    • Barbara Donovan

God will lead the way in all your circumstances. I will keep you in my prayers.

      • Mel

        Thank you!!!

    • Julie Phillips

Mel welcome home! I’d start with Matthew and read through the New Testament at your own pace. The gospels Mark, Luke, and John will put you face to face with all the accounts of Jesus here on earth. Then Acts is full of miracles to encourage you and bring you an understanding of how the Holy Spirit put a fire under our church beginnings. The rest of the epistles, mostly written by Paul, will give you direction for how to apply the gospel to everyday life. I’m brand new to CF but have been a Christ follower, at one distance or another for over 40 years. Our God is so loving and gracious. We can trust Him with every detail of our lives! Many blessings Mel!

      • Mel

So helpful, great detailed direction which I feel is exactly what I need right now. Now I understand a little more what I should expect out of the readings. I have heard the Holy Spirit at times, I just wish I did more often. Thanks so much.

        • Julie Phillips

God loves when you ask for more of Him. Spend quality time every day and practice His presence. 1Thessalonians 5:16-18

          • Mel

Quick question…epistles??? Did you mean Ephesians???

          • Susan Stark Burgazzoli

The epistles are a book of the New Testament in the form of a letter from an Apostle. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John would fall under this catagory.

        • Susan Stark Burgazzoli

All you have to do is ask for him Mel. He is a real person and he is always with you. He is your guide, your mentor, your comforter.

    • Susan Stark Burgazzoli

Good Morning Mel. Welcome Home. You’ve certainly come to the right place. I too had to hit rock bottom before I “came back” to Jesus. Quite frankly, I don’t know anyone who comes to Jesus (unless you’re raised in the church) when everything is going great. Julie has some great suggestions and insights and I would also like to offer you some advice. My life was in ruins 9 years ago. Everything was going wrong, my marriage, I had 3major operations to save my life, my children were leaving for college and I couldn’t even see them off, we were ruined financially and lost everything we worked 30 years for, and the only way out of this is through Jesus Christ our Lord. No one else can take these burdens from us, no one else can love us and protect us (yes, even from ourselves) like Jesus. I’d like to recommend reading the early Psalms. Psalm 46 “God is our refuge and strength” jumped out at me for you. God Bless Mel! With Jesus ANYTHING is possible.

      • Mel

Oh wow, yes, I’ve been through the ringer a few times, I kinda chose this rock bottom because I felt it’s time to really make some serious changes so here I am doing what I probably should have years ago but if it wasn’t for someone really special and his faith I’m not sure I would have chosen this…thanks so much for this.

        • Susan Stark Burgazzoli

Whatever your reasons maybe Mel, remember it is Christ that is orchestrating this big, beautiful picture called “your life”. May God continue to bless you and may your travel into enlightenment be a joyous one.

  • Cassandra

Love these inspirational comments thanks guys😀💜🙏

  • Emely Robinson

Hi everyone!!! My husband and I were moved by yesterday’s preaching and we have both decided to commit to the 21 days for FIRST TIME. We are both nervous, but ready to stretch our minds and soul for more of what God has in store for us as married couple and individuals. God Bless everyone!

    • Susan Stark Burgazzoli

Don’t be nervous. With God on our side, how can we fail? You can do it!

  • Ian Willis

I’m doing the Daniel Fast. No salt has been difficult. I started the day in prayer and meditation and have spent extra quiet time in prayer and reflection before each meal.

  • Barbara Donovan

    Hi everyone,
I am excited to embark on the 21 days of fast and prayer. I know I need some major changes within my life. The past several months have been a cluster of major challenges that have rattled my family. In the midst of all of this I know Jesus is the calm amongst any storm.
I want this year to be different therefore I decided to join Christ Fellowship for the 21 day fast. As Pastor Todd said to receive something different we need to do something different. I am welcoming the Lord into my life to transform me and present his will for my life.

  • Lorna Nazon

I am so embracing this fast. May he give me strength for prayer and fasting.

  • Sandra Negri

This is my first time doing a Fast and Prayer. I ask God to speak to me and help me to honor this 21 day fast. May God help us in Jeus name.

  • Nancy Blocksom-Varney

Hi everyone. This is also my first time REALLY doing the 21 day fast and prayer. I did it last year but I really didn’t know what I was doing. This year I’m trying it again and think I have a better understanding of what it means. I just pray that God helps me to do it this year with a better understanding and clarity. In Jesus name Amen!

  • Colleen Simpson

    I’m doing the same thing!

  • Mel

    I have thanks so much.

  • Mel

    Thanks!!!

  • Susan Stark Burgazzoli

I have done 40 day fasts before and it was an amazing experience to get closer to the Lord. This 21day fast, I have chosen to modify the “Daniel” fast to just water during the day and a light supper, such as a yogurt or fruit for dinner in honor of my Lord. May all be blessed to completion for those who decide to fast for the Lord.

  • Melissa Rambadt

Hi everyone my name is Melissa I know pastor Matt pretty well because I go to the Stuart campus. I have taken many years of struggles with family, money, depression and heavy health problems. I’m back home now where I belong and I thank and owe all my praise to me king. I listen every week to Todd , and or Julie or guest speaker and take lots of notes. I’ve been at CF for a year now and I am home!!! I go back and reread my notes and go over all the pastor had to say that day in notes and bible. God has given me my strength, my courage and my faith back. I’ve been baptized for my place in heaven and on Sunday’s I think I sometimes sing so loud in the front row the poor singers in stage can hear me. But that’s how much I love to sing to him, my king that is because there is no other name but Jesus Christ ” my god”. Anyway rambling here, lol I too am doing the 21 day challenge and chose to give up junk food for my 21 days and when I tell you that’s my drug of choice I’m not kidding, I could eat an entire bag of Doritos while watching a movie. Not kidding 😐. So far so good I’m not wanting to run out and buy anything because I pray and pray. For all of you questioning your faith or god, don’t listen to what everyone is saying here. Come home. Learn for yourself…Your life with will be so wealthy and I’m not talking money here I’m talking wealthy in yourself and your family. CF is amazing and I keep praying and I’ll pray for all of you for your 21 day challenge. Good luck and I love you all. 🙏🏻😇😊❤️

  • Mel

I’d like to shout out to all of those that were so kind and encouraging with your comments to my post, I have so many great directions…I grew up going to church but never really took the Bible and it’s teachings very seriously, probably like all young people, I guess at that age we just seem to take it all for granted. God bless everyone with the transformations that are about to come for all of us. It’s an absolute “Amazing” moment!!! Love to all and peace be with all of us.

  • Danielle Borzillo

After being a christian for 33 years I feel that I have let some things that God planted in me slide while letting the everyday mundane stuff and difficulties of life consume my time. I am ready to walk in the gifts he gave. me.

  • Sandra Negri

Good. May God comfort and bless you.
