The 1990s: Building for the Harvest
As God multiplied the congregation and it outgrew the schoolhouse, there was a sense of excitement as the church family began to seek God for their next step of faith.
Through a time of prayer and fasting, the 100-member congregation decided to purchase a covered horse-riding arena on Northlake Boulevard. The move into what we now call Christ Fellowship’s Gardens South Campus was a team effort, requiring great sacrifice from the entire church body.
Families took out mortgages on their homes, sold jewelry and cashed out savings accounts. For one year, members of the church family met six days a week to work on everything from clearing the land to hanging drywall. A group of men met every morning for prayer, asking God to build the church that He desired, and asking Him to draw men and women from the north, south, east and west to experience His life-changing power.
In November 1992, Christ Fellowship opened its Gardens South Campus doors. As the church family reached out in love, God drew many to Himself. Every year the church nearly doubled in size. Christ Fellowship developed many dynamic ministries for men, women and children. Hundreds of children and teens gathered weekly all over the campus, learning about God and His ways.
